Problem Note 44687: An error occurs when you use SAS PC Files Server EXCELCS and ACCESSCS drivers to import double-byte character set (DBCS) filenames
When you use the EXCELCS or ACCESSCS drivers to access filenames that contain DBCS characters such as Japanese, Chinese, or Korean, the following error might occur:
proc import datafile="c:\temp\???_en.xlsx" out=out dbms=excelcs replace;
run;
ERROR: Unable to open file c:\temp\???_en.xlsx. It does not exist or it is already opened
exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
The problem occurs because SAS PC Files Server does not support DBCS characters in filenames.
To obtain a fix for this issue, contact SAS Technical Support.
The problem has been fixed in the first maintenance release for SAS 9.3 (TS1M1). If you are running an earlier release, use Roman characters in your filenames.
